Mak, Pak-Cheong Ho Abstract Chronic distal radioulnar joint instability is caused by disruption of its stabilizers of which the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) has a key role, and it is the aim of this chapter to illustrate a minimally invasive method to reconstruct the TFCC anatomically…

Isolated palmar dislocation of distal radioulnar joint is a rare injury. It can easily lead to misdiagnosis. Previous literature reports were all rotation violence. We reported a patient with direct impact violence. We report a 31-year-old male laborer presented to our hospital with an acute trauma. Severe tenderness and limited mobility were seen in his right wrist.

Keywords: distal radioulnar joint, surgical approach, exposure, volar ulnar, wrist, distal radius | HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVES With the advent of new techniques for the distal ulna and distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ), there has been an increased interest in surgical approaches to this region. Most of the DRUJ operative procedures have been Distal Radioulnar Joint T he skeletal architecture of the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) provides minimal inherent stability; the sigmoid notch is shallow, and its radius of curvature is 50% greater than that of the ulnar head.1 Thus, the DRUJ relies heavily on soft-tissue (ie, ligament, muscle) support forstability.Thestructuresthatcon- Distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) injuries can occur separately or in conjunction with distal radius fractures and both-bone forearm fractures. In fact, nearly 60 percent of forearm fractures adversely affect the DRUJ. Distal Radio Ulnar Joint Arthritis The DRUJ is the joint between the end of the radius and ulna bones, just before the wrist. This joint is where forearm rotation occurs (twisting movements of the hand and wrist). There is also a pivot between the radius and ulna bones near the elbow and the two work together to allow forearm rotation The distal end of radius, about 2 cm proximal to the radiocarpal joint at the metaphyseal fl are, is uniquely designed to transmit axial load and provide mobility [1].

Incomplete metaphyseal reduction of the distal radius does lead to DRUJ instability.

CONCLUSION. Distal Radioulnar Joint Instability occurs when articular contact between the two forearm bones at the wrist follows an abnormal path in rotation.

Disorders of the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) are a common source of ulnar-sided wrist pain. The ulnar side of the wrist has often been likened to the lower back because of the difficulties involved in establish-ing a specific diagnosis for pain at both sites and therefore in … The distal radioulnar joint plays an intricate part in the function of the wrist and thus in the function of the entire upper extremity. Distal radioulnar joint

The distal radioulnar articulation (inferior radioulnar joint) is a synovial pivot-type joint between the two bones in the forearm; the radius and ulna.It is one of two joints between the radius and ulna, the other being the proximal radioulnar articulation.

This prospective randomized control trial (PRCT) aims to compare the outcome of three treatments for acute distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) injury with instability

Generally, the injury causing distal radioulnar joint subluxation could be simple in nature but this often causes fracture to either of the bones.
